Edworking’s file library lets you share existing assets without having to re‑upload them. Below you will learn how to find a file that is already in your space (an image and a sample PDF), enable public sharing and then verify that the public link works. The steps begin from the Files page — no sign‑in or upload instructions are included, as you indicated those are not needed.
1. Open an existing image and enable public sharing
On the Edworking Files page, locate the image you wish to share. In our case, we selected workshop.jpg from the list of files. Double‑clicking the row opens the file in an overlay viewer.
In the viewer, click the three‑dot menu in the top‑right corner and choose Share. A small “Share to Public” dialog appears with a Public sharing toggle.
Turn on the Public sharing switch. When enabled, the switch turns blue and a Copy Link button appears below the toggle
Click Copy Link to copy the newly generated public URL to your clipboard, then click Done to close the dialog.
2. Verify the image’s public link
Open a new browser tab or window and paste the copied link in the address bar. When the page loads, you will see a simple public view of the image with buttons to Download and Copy URL
No login is required, confirming that the file is shared publicly.
Share this link with anyone who needs access to the image. They can view or download the file without an Edworking account.
3. Share a PDF file publicly
Return to the Files page and double‑click sample.pdf to open it. The PDF appears in the viewer with scroll bars. Open the three‑dot menu and select Share.
In the “Share to Public” dialog, toggle Public sharing on. The blue switch indicates that sharing is enabled and activates the Copy Link button
Click Copy Link and then Done.
4. Test the PDF’s public link
Paste the copied link into a new browser tab or private window. Unlike images, Edworking’s public PDF page does not embed a viewer; instead, the page shows buttons to Download or Copy URL for the file. This confirms that the PDF is publicly accessible and can be downloaded by anyone.
If you need to preview the PDF before sharing, you can always open it from the Files page while logged in. For public recipients, provide the shared link so they can download the document.
5. Key takeaways
You can share any file already stored in your Edworking space without re‑uploading it. Use the file viewer’s Share option to enable public sharing.
When Public sharing is on, the file receives a unique URL. Anyone with this link can access the file without logging in.
Images open directly in a public viewer, whereas PDFs require downloading from the public page. Both methods confirm that the file is shared publicly.
