Edworking combines persistent meeting rooms with one‑click video calls built into every chat. This guide explains how to use both features, including how to start a call, adjust your audio/video devices and switch between mini and full meeting views.
Accessing Meets
Open the Meets dashboard: In the left‑hand navigation of the Edworking workspace, click Meets. The All Meets dashboard lists scheduled and past meetings and provides buttons to Start a Meeting or Schedule Meeting.
Start a meeting: Choose Start a Meeting to open the pre‑join screen. Here you can preview your camera, name the meeting, toggle your microphone and camera and copy the meeting link.
Select Join Meeting to enter.
Meeting room controls
Once in a meeting room, you’ll see a large video area with a control bar at the bottomapp.edworking.com:
Microphone & camera: Toggle your audio and video on or off. You can switch devices during the call via the Settings button, which lets you choose a different microphone, camera or speaker.
Share screen: Share your browser tab, entire window or full screen through the screen‑share icon; a system dialog will prompt you to pick what to share.
Chat panel: Click the chat icon in the lower‑right to open a meeting‑specific chat where participants can send messages and share files.
Settings: The settings cog allows you to change your microphone, camera and speaker devices on the fly. You can also adjust video quality and background effects (blur or image) from here.
Copy link & end call: Use the link icon to copy the meeting URL and the red phone icon to end the call.
Starting video calls from chats
Edworking’s chat interface integrates one‑click video calls, so you don’t have to leave a conversation to talk face‑to‑face. This works for private 1‑to‑1 chats, task chats and space (group) channels.
Open a chat: Navigate to any chat (direct message, task or space) and look below the message composer. You’ll see icons for attachments, tasks and a video‑camera icon. Click the camera icon to start a call.
Mini call window: A small pop‑up appears in the bottom‑left showing who you’re calling with buttons to mute your microphone, toggle your camera and share your screen.
You can continue typing messages or browse other parts of Edworking while the call stays pinned.
Expand the call: To switch to a full meeting room view, click the arrow in the mini window’s title bar. The call opens in a large meeting interface with familiar controls. This expanded view is useful when more participants join or you need more space for screen sharing.
Group calls: In task or space chats, the same camera icon starts a group call. All chat members receive a notification and can join instantly. Because calls live inside the chat, any shared files or messages remain associated with that conversation.
Dedicated meeting rooms vs. chat calls
Edworking gives you flexibility depending on your needs:
Chat calls are ideal for quick, ad‑hoc discussions without leaving your conversation. They support 1‑to‑1 and group calls and can be expanded into a full meeting interface when required.
Meeting rooms are persistent spaces designed for scheduled meetings. They include their own chat, files and history and support sharing links with external guests. You can schedule meetings in advance from the Meets dashboard and receive notifications when the meeting starts.
Regardless of which option you use, Edworking lets you switch your microphone, camera and speaker devices at any time through the Settings menu and offers background blur or image effects for a polished appearance.
